Research Officer – NSW Government

A Research Officer is required by a NSW Government Department in St Leonards on an initial 12-month contract to coordinate and support the establishment, delivery, management, monitoring and evaluation of programs within the Quality and System Performance team.
  
Key accountabilities:
  • Conduct and commission research (literature reviews, indicator development and qualitative research) to inform the development of new products and programs and optimise existing projects
  • Collect, map, analyse and synthesise data; identify issues and areas for continuous quality improvement
  • Project and research management and support services; prepare project scopes and briefs, develop and monitor project plans, coordinate resources, monitor milestones and deliverables
  • Review, monitor and report on project plans and progress; identify issues and risks
  • Prepare project documentation such as reports, synthesis of literature, correspondence, discussion papers and responses
  • Contribute to the design and development of evidence-based products; optimise existing products to support clinicians
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure programs and products are sensitive to, and meet the needs of, primary and community care, as well as Aboriginal and CALD populations
Selection criteria:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (in Health)
  • Relevant understanding and experience working in a Health system
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing research projects in healthcare
  • Experience in literature review development and the development, implementation, analysis and reporting of qualitative research and continuous quality improvement
  • Demonstrated experience with NVivo qualitative research management software, EndNote referencing software and the Microsoft Suite of programs
  • Knowledge of relevant trends, issues, policies and practices across a diverse portfolio of projects within healthcare
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats
